Ashe Named America East Performer of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Following a second-place finish at the New England Championships, graduate student Eric Ashe of the Boston University men's cross country team was named America East Performer of the Week, the league office announced.

The Hanson, Mass., native completed the 8K course at Boston's Franklin Park in 24:21, good for second place overall and first among runners from NCAA Division I programs. Ashe also paced the Terriers to a second-place finish as a team, just two points behind meet-winner Dartmouth.

Ashe has competed in two of BU's three races this season. In his season debut, he captured the individual title at the America East Pre-Championships on Sept. 19 with a time of 24:30.

The men's cross country team will return to action on Oct. 30 for the America East Championships at Franklin Park.
