AMES, Iowa - The Boston University wrestling team opened its tournament schedule on Saturday (Nov. 13), as 12 Terriers competed in the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open, hosted by Iowas State. BU had three wrestlers place in their respective classes and all 12 earned at least one win on the day.

Sophomore Hunter Meys earned five wins en route to a fourth-place finish at 174 pounds. Included in his victories were a pair of Big 12 wrestlers in Marcus Armato (Oklahoma) and Michael England (Iowa State).

The Terriers had two impressive performances by freshmen making their collegiate tournament debuts, as Nick Tourville placed fifth at 157 and Kevin Innis finished sixth at 285.

After dropping a hard-fought 3-2 match to Minnesota State's Tel Todd in the consolation semfinals, Tourville rebounded with a 6-5 tiebreaker victory over Nebraska's Dakota Magrew in the fifth-place bout.

Innis won his first two matches before falling in the quarterfinals. In the wrestlebacks, he posted a 7-3 win over NIACC's Mark Tiedermann and then advanced to the fifth-place match, where he was pinned by Northern Iowa's Blane Beale.

The Terriers will return to action on Sunday (Nov. 21) when they travel to Philadelphia to compete in the Keystone Classic at Penn.
