Sophomore Regis Chang earned a victory in singles action for the Boston University men's tennis team, but Boston College was too strong for the 6-1 home victory Sunday afternoon. The Atlantic Coast Conference's Eagles improve to 2-3, while the Terriers drop to 1-4.
BC earned the victory by sweeping doubles and capturing five of the six singles contests. The BU freshmen duo of Alex Hallenbeck and Marcus Vanberkel won the most games, falling to Billy Grokenberger/Brian Garber, 8-5.
In singles, Chang defeated Rob Ankner, 2-6, 7-6 (9-7), 10-5 to put the Terriers on the board at No. 6. Senior James Bernstein had a chance to go to a third set but was broken in the second to fall to Grokenberger, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5.
BU will next host Bryant University at the Track and Tennis Center on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 12 p.m.
