Women's Swimming and Diving Takes Down Rival Boston College, 205-93

Chesnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston University women's swimming and diving team handed cross-town rival Boston College a 205-83 defeat on Tuesday evening at BC. The Terriers swept every possible individual first-place finish in the meet with five athletes winning multiple races.

The 200-medley relay team, led off by Maria McIntyre, got things started as it touched in 1:45.54.McIntyre was followed by Kristen Connors, Emily Munday and Kirsten Tullis. McIntyre later won the 100 back in 58.39.

Brigette O'Shaughnessy and Megan Happ went 1-2 in the 1,000 free, as the two distance swimmers clocked in at 10:28.68 and 10:36.20, respectively.

Amanda Schmitz won the first of her two victories in the 200 free (1:55.40) and later stood atop the podium in the 200 fly with a time of 2:06.78. Connors was also a multi-event winner, claiming first in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.32) and 200 breaststroke (2:24.35).

Munday dominated the freestyle sprints with the wins in the 50 (24.23) and 100 (52.31), respectively, while Lauren Drake rounded out the group of Terriers who won multiple events. She claimed first in the 100 fly (57.75) and the 200 IM (2:09.95).

In the diving events, Melinda Matyas led sweeps on both boards. She won the 1M with a score of 278.02 and Sarah Colton and Bailey O'Brien followed in second (231.15) and third (221.70). Matyas later won the 3M with a score of 242.92.

Also picking up victories on Tuesday night was Katie Radin (200 back, 2:09.56) and Clara Van Allen (5:07.17).
