PROVIDENCE, R.I. and BOSTON - The Boston University wrestling team competed both home and away on Friday against Ivy League squads from the EIWA, dropping a 28-12 dual at Brown before returning to Boston to face Princeton, which came away with an indentical 28-12 victory. With the two losses, BU falls to 3-12-1 on the season.

The Terriers began the day with a trip to Providence to face Brown and fell behind, 6-0, early before reeling off three straight wins, kicked off by a pin from senior Abbie Rush at 141, to take a 12-6 lead. Freshman Nestor Taffur (149) and sophomore Matt Morgenstern (157) also picked up wins for the Terriers.

The Bears, however, proved to be too much, claiming wins in the final five matches to post the 28-12 win.

In the nightcap at Case Gym, BU led, 6-3, after three bouts thanks to hard-fought one-point wins by sophomore Fred Santaite (133) and Rush. The Tigers gained the lead for good though with a pin at 149 and built a 28-6 lead before junior Brock Mantella (197) and senior Carmen Rondash (285) closed out the dual with back-to-back wins for the Terriers.

BU will return to action on Saturday (Feb. 6) when it plays host to CAA foe Drexel for a 1 p.m. dual.
