BOSTON - The Boston University wrestling team swept a home quad meet on Saturday, posting wins over Sacred Heart (41-3), Davidson (36-10) and American International (43-10) to move to 6-5-1 on the year.
BU opened the day against Sacred Heart and reeled off nine straight victories, including four bonus wins, to roll to the 41-3 decision.
The Terriers were able to jump out to an early 18-3 lead against Davidson thanks to a trio of forfeits by the Wildcats. BU closed out with wins in four of the final five bouts, including a pin by sophomore Nestor Taffur at 149.
In its final dual of the meet, BU registered four pins against American International to post the convincing 43-10 win.
Taffur, freshman Bubba McGinley, sophomore Hunter Meys and junior John Hall each went 3-0 on the day. Freshmen Kevin Innis and B.J. Suitor, sophomore Kyle Czarnecki, junior Ryan Dowd and senior Brock Mantella all posted a pair of victories.
BU will return to action on Saturday (Jan. 29) when it visits Army for a 4 p.m. dual.
