LAWRENCEVILLE and PRINCETON, N.J. - The Boston University wrestling team had its eight-match winning streak snapped at Rider on Saturday but rebounded later in the day with a 25-18 victory at Princeton to close out its dual schedule.

The Terriers, who will next compete at the CAA Championships at Rider on March 4-5, finish their dual season with a record of 11-6-1.

Juniors John Hall (197) and Fred Santaite (133) and freshman Kevin Innis (285) each went 2-0 on the day. Hall extended his win streak to 13 matches.

In Saturday's first dual, the Terriers won three of the first four matches and held a 13-6 lead through six bouts before the home team won the last four to capture a 22-13 victory.

After sophomore Hunter Meys dropped a 7-1 decision to Rob Morrison at 174, senior Brock Mantella started a string of three straight BU wins with a hard-fought 13-11 win over James Brundage at 184.

Hall followed with a 9-0 major decision and Innis gave the Terriers a 10-3 lead with a 10-3 victory.

The lower weights then started with Rider's Chuck Zeisloft topping junior Ryan Dowd, 6-3, at 125. Santaite answered with an 8-4 triumph over Jimmy Kirchner to make the score 13-6 in the Terriers' favor.

The Broncs proved to be too tough from 141-165, capturing four straight bouts to close the match, including a pin and major decision.

BU then made the short drive over to Princeton for their dual finale, which started at the top of the lineup at 125.

Dowd dropped a 4-1 decision before Santaite pinned Adam Krop at 1:55 of their 133-pound match. The Tigers answered with a pin of their own at 141, but sophomore Nestor Taffur made it a 9-9 deadlock when he topped Greg Ott, 3-1, at 149.

Princeton took a 15-9 advantage with wins at 157 and 165, but those were negated by its forfeit at 174 to once again cause a deadlock at 15-15.

The Tigers would take the lead once more when Mantella lost by a score of 5-1 to Travis Erdman at 184.

The bottom of the BU lineup came through, however, as Hall pinned Dan Santoro at 197 before Innis clinched the team victory with a 14-5 major decision over Charles Fox.
