BALTIMORE, Md. - The Boston University men's and women's swimming & diving programs each finished in second place in the 2011 America East championships over the weekend.

Kyle Ernst won his second individual race of the weekend on Sunday evening with a winning time of 1:59.50 in the 200 breaststroke. His time was good enough to be considered for the NCAAs and reset his own school record in that event.

Daniel Kempf was also able to stand atop the podium as he won the 100 free in 45.02. Bryon Kallert was second in the 200 back with a time of 1:47.82 - good for a school record - and Tim Bouiver was third in the grueling 1,650 free, clocking in at 15:57.93.

To close out the evening for the men, the 400-free relay team of Kallert, Matt Rickett, Jackson Hill, and Kempf won in 3:00.76.

For the women, the Terriers came alive in the diving events as Melinda Matyas led a 1-2-3 sweep of the one-meter board. Matyas scored 531.95 to finish first, while Chelsea Glincman placed second (474.35), and Sarah Colton (447.55) was third.

Kristen Connors had an impressive performance in the 200 breaststroke as she finished second, touching the wall in 2:17.80 to qualify for ECACs. Rounding out the Terriers' top-five finishes was Katie Radin in the 200 back (4th, 2:03.07), and Maria McIntyre in the 100 free (5th, 51.88).

Ernst locked up Most Outstanding Swimmer honors on the men's side with a dominant performance in the 200 breaststroke. He broke the America East meet record with a time of 1:59.50 and finished 2.52 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.

Matyas led a Terrier sweep of the women's one- and three-meter boards on her way to earning Most Outstanding Diver of the Meet honors, while Tanner Knorr was named the Outstanding Diver of the Meet on the men's side as he took both the one- and three-meter titles.
