After posting a 22-7 record and earning his first berth to the NCAA Championships, sophomore Kevin Innis was named the 2011-12 most outstanding wrestler at Boston University.

Innis, a heavyweight, posted a 13-2 dual record before earning a third-place finish at the CAA Championships to qualify for the NCAAs.

At nationals, the sophomore earned an opening-round win over Pitt's P.J. Tasser before dropping his final two matches and finishing his season with 22 victories.

His clinched four team victories during the dual season, including a thrilling 3-2 win in the final match against Iowa State, sending the Terriers to their first ever win over a Big 12 opponent. Innis also claimed the heavyweight title at the Keystone Classic in November.

He recorded a team-best five pins on the year and had two lengthy streaks of six and seven straight wins.
