BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Senior Sofi Laurito scored a pair of first-half goals to lead the No. 17 Boston University field hockey team to a 3-0 road win over Lehigh on Saturday afternoon at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The Terriers remain perfect in Patriot League play at 5-0.

Laurito tipped in a ball off a corner in the 14th minute and then converted a penalty stroke 14 minutes later. Sophomore Kali Shumock finished the scoring late in the game with her first goal of the season.

Junior Bea Baumberger Altirriba picked up two assists to increase her league-leading total to 12 and classmate Cammy Jensen stopped all four shots she faced to pick up the shutout. BU improved to 10-4 overall on the year.

The first goal came off BU's second corner of the contest as the play was set up for Baumberger Altirriba at the top of the circle. From the middle of the circle, Laurito redirected the offering by Baumberger Altirriba to the boards for her seventh goal of the season.

Laurito converted the penalty stroke late in the opening half for her eighth tally and gave the visitors a 2-0 halftime lead.

Shumock scored off a similar corner play as Laurito's, tipping the ball up over Lehigh goalkeeper Julia Ward off a ball from the top of the circle by Baumberger Altirriba.

Saturday's win allowed BU to clinch at least a share of the Patriot League regular-season title. The Terriers will host Bucknell next Saturday (Oct. 24) needing a win to clinch home field for the Patriot League tournament.

BU held a 20-7 shot advantage and earned 12 corners while allowing only two. Ward made nine saves.
