NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Led by freshman Courtney Breiner's ninth-place performance, the Boston University women's cross country team raced at the CCSU Mini Meet hosted by Central Connecticut State on Friday afternoon.
Competing for the final time prior to next weekend's Patriot League Championships, the Terriers finished fifth in the 15-team field with 160 points. All five Terriers who scored on Friday were in the top 50.
Breiner posted the best finish of her brief collegiate career thanks to a time of 10:25.9. Senior Erin Pierce was next for the Terriers in 25th (10:26.5), followed by freshman Dominique Betterbed in 38th (10:56.3). Sophomore Gabrielle DiRenzo was 46th (11:01.0), with freshman Elin Wolker close behind in 50th (11:03.6). Freshman Leora Tofler (11:20.5) and junior Colleen Tretheway (11:22.4) rounded out the Terrier contingent.
BU will look to win its third straight Patriot League title on Oct. 31 at Colgate. The women's race is set to begin at 12 p.m.
