NEW ORLEANS - Senior Kevin Thomas of the Boston University men's cross country team earned All-Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as announced on Friday night.
Thomas finished 20th at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Friday at Franklin Park. To earn All-Region honors, a runner must finish in the top 25 individually at one of the nine regional sites.
A native of Marshfield, Massachusetts, Thomas has enjoyed a spectacular cross country campaign. He posted three top-five finishes, including a fifth-place performance at the Patriot League Championship. Thomas also took third at the New England Championship to help lead the Terriers to the team title, and he finished in the top 25 of all five races he ran.
Thomas is the first All-Region nominee for the men's cross country team since Rich Peters in 2012.
