CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Senior Stephanie Nasson of the Boston University women’s swimming and diving team has been named to the Patriot League 25th Anniversary Team, the conference announced on Wednesday morning.

In just two seasons in the Patriot League, Nasson has made her presence known as the best distance swimmer in the conference. The Wrentham, Mass. native won back-to-back titles in the 1650 freestyle at the PL Championship last year to earn First Team All-Patriot League honors for the second time. With a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle, Nasson led the Terriers in points at the meet in 2015 and was named the Female Swimmer of the Meet during her sophomore campaign in 2014, during which she set league and meet records in the 1650 freestyle.

Nasson holds school records in the 1650, 1000 and 500 freestyle, all of which were set at the 2014 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. As a sophomore, Nasson became the first Terrier to advance to the national meet since 1988 and is one of just three Boston University student-athletes to qualify in two events.

Fifteen of the Anniversary Team members won the Patriot League Swimmer of the Meet award in their career, with eight of those claiming the honor more than once. Five others claimed at least one Patriot League Diver of the Meet honor, with four of those winning the award multiple times. Eleven Anniversary Team members were also named to the Patriot League All-Decade Team for competition from 1990-2000, while the group has combined for 75 All-League honors (All-League Teams were not awarded in the first four seasons of Patriot League competition).

The Patriot League is releasing 25th Anniversary Teams throughout the month of August for each sport that has been sponsored by the League since it became an all-sport conference beginning in the 1990-91 season. In addition to the 25th Anniversary Teams, coverage throughout the 2015-16 season will focus on former student-athletes and top stories in the history of the Patriot League.
