Terriers Open Fall Slate at Diane Thomason Invitational

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Boston University golf team began its fall campaign at the 54-hole Diane Thomason Invitational this past weekend at Finkbine Golf Course.

BU finished 11th at the event hosted by the University of Iowa. The Terriers totaled a three-round total of 948, just four shots behind 10th-place Bradley. The host Hawkeyes won the event with a total of 888.

Senior Emily Tillo was terrific on Sunday, carding a final-round 75 to finish tied for 25th with a 232 (77-80-75). Tillo's Sunday score included an eagle and a birdie. Sophomore Phyllis Tang totaled a 235 (78-77-80), followed by junior Adela Cejnarova, who finished with a 236 (79-81-76).

Freshman Megan Carter (81-86-79) made her collegiate debut and her strongest round came on Sunday with a 79. She tied with senior Maddy Silverman (81-85-80), as each golfer carded a 246.

BU will next tee off on Sept. 26 when they begin the two-day Dartmouth Invitational. The Terriers and Tillo will both look to defend the team and individual titles at Dartmouth.
