WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Boston University golf team finished fourth at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary, which concluded Tuesday on the River Course at the Kingsmill Resort.
The Terriers were in second after 36 holes on Monday thanks to a second-round 301, the team's low score of the tournament. BU shot a 304 in the opening round and combined for a 320 on Tuesday to finish two strokes behind third-place William & Mary. Toledo won the event with a tournament-record 908.
Senior Emily Tillo led the Terriers with three rounds in the 70s to finish tied for 10th. She fired back-to-back 75s on Monday before a 79 on Tuesday to total a 229. Junior Adela Cejnarova was one stroke back in a tie for 14th with a 230 (73-77-80) thanks to an opening-round 73, the low score of the tournament for BU. Cejnarova was one of the steadiest players on the course, recording 35 pars over three rounds, which ranked third.
Senior Maddy Silverman joined Tillo with three rounds in the 70s and finished tied for 21st with a 232 (79-75-78). Sophomore Phyllis Tang (77-76-87) and freshman Megan Carter (82-75-83) each posted a score of 240.
The Terriers will return to action on April 4 in the opening round of the Hoya Invitational hosted by Georgetown.
