LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior Adela Cejnarova is the 36-hole leader at the 2016 Patriot League Championship, which began on Saturday at Bucknell Golf Club.
Cejnarova, the 2015 individual champion, held a three-shot lead after an opening-round 72 and enters Sunday with a two-shot advantage following a second-round 75. If she hangs on to win the title, she will become the first back-to-back individual champion in conference history.
BU was one shot behind Richmond after 18 holes with a 304, but a 316 in the second round has the Terriers 11 shots behind the Spiders (609). Lehigh is in second by a stroke after a two-round total of 619. The host Bison are fourth with a 626.
Freshman Megan Carter is tied for sixth after a two-round total of 155 (77-78). Sophomore Phyllis Tang is tied for 14th at 158 (76-82), followed by senior Emily Tillo (79-81), who is two strokes behind Tang and tied for 18th. Seniors Maddy Silverman (79-84) and Sarah Easton (86-85) also competed on Saturday.
If the Terriers are able to erase the deficit and defend their Patriot League title, they will earn a second straight automatic bid into an NCAA Regional.
