BOSTON – The No. 13 Boston University field hockey team ended up on the short end of a defensive battle with Harvard on Thursday evening at New Balance Field as the visiting Crimson escaped with a 1-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boston University had a considerable edge in possession time but could not solve the Harvard defense and dropped its third straight contest.
- The Crimson tallied the game's lone goal in the 52nd minute when Bente van Vlijemn's shot from the top of the circle off a corner found the left boards with assists going to Emily Duarte and Kyla Cordrey.
- All five of Terriers' corners on the night came in the first half but they were unable to take advantage of them.
- Senior goalkeeper Cammy Jensen recorded five saves for the Terriers while Harvard got a pair of saves from Libby Manela.
- BU pulled Jensen in favor of a kicking back for the final 2:47.
GAME NOTES
- The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak against the Crimson, dating back to 2004.
- Harvard outshot the Terriers, 9-7, and each team earned five corners.
- BU held a 6-3 shot advantage at halftime but mustered only one shot in the second half.
- This the Terriers' first three-game losing streak since October 2010.
