Schroeder Stops 42 Shots in 2-2 Tie at New Hampshire

DURHAM, N.H. - Freshman goaltender Corinne Schroeder made a career-high 42 saves as the Boston University women's ice hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie at New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon at the Whittemore Center.

GOAL-BY-GOAL

  • Senior Victoria Bach scored just 18 seconds into the proceedings to give BU a 1-0 lead. Sophomore Abby Cook began the rush by getting the puck out of her own zone to senior Rebecca Leslie. Leslie skated over the UNH blue line and dropped the puck for Bach, who roofed it over Ava Boutilier (34 saves) for her fourth goal of the year.
  • Freshman Kristina Schuler made it 2-0 with a power-play goal at the 15:55 mark of the opening frame. Redshirt sophomore Abbey Stanley passed it to junior Mary Grace Kelley, who then proceeded to slip the puck to Schuler in the left circle. Schuler's shot bounced off a Wildcat defender and into the net for Schuler's second goal of the season.
  • UNH got a goal back early in the third period when Meghara McManus slotted home a rebound past freshman Schroeder during a Wildcat power play.
  • The Wildcats tied the game at the 13:14 mark of the frame with a 4-on-3 power-play marker.
  • Neither team was able to score in the remainder of the third period or overtime, though both teams did enjoy multiple chances in the final five minutes of the contest.
