- The Leopards' Evan Vare hit the right post in 48th minute on a shot from the left side.
- BU took the lead for good at 64:11 when Butzke sent a cross into the box for Knutsson to chip over the keeper, allowing freshman Austin D'Anna to finish the play before a Lafayette clear.
- Lafayette managed to get a through ball past the BU backline, but Bernardi was perfectly positioned near the right post to stop the quick point-blank shot.
- Sophomore Matt McDonnell put the game away at 76:31 by heading in a cross from Butzke.
- The Terriers have opened conference play with four straight shutouts for the first time since blanking six consecutive America East opponents in 1993.
- D'Anna became the ninth Terrier to record a goal this season, as McDonnell took the team lead goals (3) while tying Knutsson (2g,2a) with six points.
- Butzke posted a career-high two assists to take the team lead in helpers this season with three total.
- BU improved to 4-1-0 all-time against Lafayette with a 2-1 road mark after winning each of the previous two contests, 1-0.
- Ever since starting the season with five shutout losses, the Terriers have averaged 1.7 goals over the last seven contests to move within a win of reaching .500.
- The Terriers will have a week off and return home to host PL preseason favorite Loyola Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 4 p.m.
- BU rallied from a 2-0 deficit with three goals over a 20-minute span at Loyola in the second half to pull out a 3-3 draw last season.
- Two years ago, BU pulled out a 2-1 home win en route to the NCAAs.
