
Bloznalis Named to Patriot League Academic All-League Team

CENTER VALLEY, Pa.—Following repeating as the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, Rachel Bloznalis earned another conference accolade for her performance in the classroom, being named to the 11-player Academic All-Patriot League Team, the conference announced on Wednesday.
This marks the fifth straight year that BU has been represented on the Academic All-Patriot League Team and is the second selection for Bloznalis. In order to qualify for the Academic All-Patriot League, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and play in at least 50 percent of this year's contests. Student-athletes are voted onto the team by a representative from each of the member teams.
Bloznalis' second-straight selection as Defensive Player of the Year marked the third time in program history a Terrier has earned multiple conference Defensive Player of the Year honors. In guiding on of the league's top backlines, Bloznalis helped the Terriers shut out nine opponents this season, including seven Patriot League foes, and limited opponent's attacks to just 9.1 shots and 0.85 goals per game.
The product of Upton, Mass. graduated with a 3.52 GPA as a health science major in Sargent College this past spring. Bloznalis is currently pursuing her master's in public health with a concentration in health policy and law. She will graduate from the BU School of Public Health this spring.
