How it Happened

  • The Wildcats opened the second stanza with a 7-2 run to take the lead at 18-15, though the lead was short-lived as Vanessa Edgehill promptly hit a 3-pointer to tie the game back up.
  • Nia Irving hit a pair of free throws to make it a one-possession game at 24-22 with four minutes left before the break, but UNH close out the frame with an 11-6 run to hold the scoreboard at 35-28.
  • Irving led the Terriers at the break with 12 points on 8-of-8 shooting from the free throw line.
  • BU battled back to cut the deficit to 39-35 after a Payton Hauck triple midway through the third, though the Terriers shot just 20 percent (3-of-15) in the frame and trailed 49-40 heading into the fourth.
  • UNH pulled away in the final frame, connecting on 14-of-20 from the charity stripe to hand BU its first loss of the season.
