NEWARK, Del. – Led by a 25-point effort from 
Katie Nelson, the Boston University women's basketball team topped Delaware, 85-79, in a tightly-contested overtime thriller Sunday afternoon at the Bob Carpenter Center.
Trailing by one with three minutes remaining in overtime, 
Payton Hauck muscled in a runner in the lane before 
Sophie Beaudry connected from the free throw line to give BU a 79-77 lead with 2:14 left. Delaware made it a one-possession game at 81-79 until Nelson delivered the dagger from beyond-the-arc with 34 seconds left as BU held on for the overtime victory.
How it Happened
	- Corrine Williams had the hot hand to open the game, scoring 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting as the Terriers took control of the scoreboard, 18-9, at the end of the first.
 
	- The Blue Hens tied it up at 35-all with just over three minutes left in the second and would take their first lead of the game, 30-28, with 1:46 left before the break.
 
	- Delaware would close out the quarter with an 11-3 run to lead 36-31 at the half.
 
	- BU shifted the momentum back on its side as Payton Hauck and Williams connected on back-to-back makes from beyond-the-arc to make it a one-possession game at 46-44 midway through the third.
 
	- Nelson came up with a steal and fast break layup to put BU back on top, 48-46, with 2:27 left in the frame, though Delaware would edge the Terriers, 54-53, as the quarter came to a close.
 
	- Nia Irving and Williams put in back-to-back layups to give BU its largest lead of the fourth, 63-59, with 5:56 left, though the Blue Hens responded with two straight baskets to take 64-63 lead at the halfway point in the fourth.
 
	- Nelson tied the game up at the free throw line, 72-72, with 25 seconds left, while Sophie Beaudry blocked Delaware's final shot in regulation with three seconds left to send the game into overtime.
 
	- Nelson hit all three of her shots in the extra frame, guiding BU to its first win against the Blue Hens after an 11-year series hiatus.

	- BU picked up its first win at Delaware since 1992 and won its first game in overtime since 2012.
