CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Following guiding the Boston University women's swimming and diving team to its first victory of the season, Julimar Avila has been named the Corvias Patriot League Female Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Avila made three trips to the podium on Saturday at UMass, winning both the 50 free and 100 fly, while also guiding the 200 medley relay to a second-place finish as BU won, 160-140. The junior started the meet of by racing the third leg in the 200 medley relay as it clocked a time of 1:49.83. Avila followed with a time of 24.01 in the 50 free before closing her day out with another victory, taking the 100 fly at 56.33.

Avila and the Terriers will trek across town to Northeastern for a midweek meet on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m.
