Terriers Falter to UCF, 47-32

BOSTON – Taking the floor at Case Gym for the final time of 2017, the Boston University women's basketball team dropped a 47-32 decision to UCF Wednesday night.

How it Happened
  • UCF opened the game with a 7-2 run before Corrine Williams netted five straight points to put BU within one possession.
  • Vanessa Edgehill knocked down a 3-pointer to give the Terriers the upper hand at 10-9 with four minutes left in the quarter.
  • The Terriers matched UCF basket-to-basket down the stretch, though the Knights eked out a 13-12 lead at the end of the opening frame.
  • BU went cold from the floor in the second quarter, missing all 10 of its shots from the floor as UCF pushed ahead, 23-14, at the end of the first half.
  • Nia Irving snapped BU's scoring drought to cut the Knight's lead to seven two minutes into the third.
  • The Terriers stymied UCF in the third quarter, holding it to connect on just 25 percent (3-of-12) from the floor, though the Knights stretched their command to 36-21.
  • Sophie Beaudry, Katie Nelson and Tenisha Pressley kicked off the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run to cut UCF's lead to single digits.
  • However, the nine-point differential was the closest BU would come as it fell by a final tally of 47-32.
