NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After capturing the doubles point, the Boston University men's tennis team claimed three singles points to edge Fairfield, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Terriers won the top two doubles matches to grab a 1-0 lead.
- Senior Lucas Bombonatti and sophomore Satyajit Simhadri claimed a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, while senior Jay Leelavanich and freshman J.P. Avila pulled out an identical score at line 2.
- The Stags avoided the doubles sweep by edging senior MIguel Cepeda and freshman Marc Sable, 7-5.
- After Fairfield tied the match at 1-1 with a straight-sets victory at the top slot, the Terriers pulled out the team win with their own straight-set victories at lines 4-6.
- Freshman Marc Sable (#4), senior Mario Sandoval (#5) and Avila (#6) all prevailed in singles action with Sable dropping just three games.
- The Stags prevented BU from earning more points by edging Leelavanich (#2) and Simhadri (#3) in super tiebreakers.
