BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After claiming the doubles point, the Boston University men's tennis team came up short in singles action against defending Patriot League champion Army West Point in a 4-1 loss on Saturday afternoon at Lehigh's Lewis Tennis Center.

MATCH NOTES
  • The Terriers jumped out to a 1-0 lead by claiming two doubles victories.
  • Senior Lucas Bombonatti and sophomore Satyajit Simhadri posted a 6-3 win at line 1, while the Black Knights won in the No. 2 slot by an identical score against seniors Jake De Vries and Mario Sandoval.
  • Freshmen Marc Sable and J.P. Avila held on for a 7-5 victory to put BU ahead.
  • The Black Knights won three of their four singles points in straight sets with David Mitchell rallying in the No. 4 slot against De Vries, 1-6, 6-3, 7-5.
  • Sable was one game away from a singles win at line 5 before his match was called with him ahead, 6-3, 5-3.

  • BU will return to non-conference action on Friday, April 14 with a 12 p.m. start time at Bryant.
