How it Happened
- The Terriers came out of the gates on the attack, controlling possession and had two corner kicks within the first eight minutes.
- Arizona State ramped up the pressure as the half wore on, finishing with 10 shots in the opening 45 minutes, though Ciolek made several stellar saves to keep the scoreboard blank.
- BU had its chances in the second as it out shot the Sun Devils, 5-4, but nothing came of its chances. Erin Neville lofted a shot from 30 yards out in the 81st minute that nearly slipped under the crossbar, through that would be last open look BU would have on the night.
- The two shots BU got off in the opening overtime were blocked, while Arizona State got off two desperation shots in the second overtime that sailed wide.
- BU earned its first draw against a Pac-12 opponent. Entering the game, the Terriers claimed a 2-7 record against Pac-12 foes.
- Arizona State owned the shot advantage, 10-2, after the first half, but BU would go on to outshoot the Sun Devils, 7-6, for the remainder of the game.
- All five of Ciolek's saves came in the first half.
- Ciolek and Rachel Bloznalis were the lone Terriers to play all 110 minutes.
- "That was as complete a game as we have played all year against a very tough and physical team. I thought we showed a lot of grit and a lot of poise."
- "It was disappointing not to get a result, but this game is a good indication of what we are capable of."
- The Terriers will close out the Sun Devil Desert Classic on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Arizona.
