BOSTON - The Boston University men's cross country team continued its 2018 season on Saturday at Franklin Park when the Terriers raced at the New England Championships.
BU finished 19th as a team with a score of 505 points. UMass won with a total of 84 points.
Sophomore
Jonathan Fierro led the Terriers with a 71st-place performance, finishing with an 8K time of 26:21.59. Sophomore
Tommy Quinn (26:441.11) and senior
Ian Anderson (26:45.53) were also in the top 100. Junior
Michael Huber crossed the finish line in 27:14.59, followed by freshman
Diego de la Torre (27:18.86) and freshman
Hayden Jennings (27:44.89).
"Everybody who competed ran well," head coach
Paul Spangler said. "Jonathan had a really good race. We stuck a lot of half-milers out there today and they surprised themselves on how fast they ran."
Next up for the Terriers is NCAA Pre-Nationals in Madison, Wisconsin, on Saturday, Oct. 13. That will be their final tune-up before the Patriot League Championship.
