BOSTON - The Boston University women's cross country team competed at the New England Championships on Saturday at Franklin Park.
Freshman
Meghan Convery led the Terriers with a 53rd-place performance. She crossed the finish line with a 5K time of 19:18.64, 50 seconds faster than her previous race. Her classmate,
Angela Castronuovo, finished with a time of 20:00.45. She was followed by freshmen
Taylor Leggett (20:43.54) and
Alexa Sabatino (20:52.77).
"Everybody who competed ran well," head coach
Paul Spangler said. "Meghan ran 19:18 today, which was a huge improvement from her. We looked better in practice this past week and ran pretty well. We stuck a lot of half-milers out there today and they surprised themselves on how fast they ran."
Next up for the Terriers is NCAA Pre-Nationals in Madison, Wisconsin, on Saturday, Oct. 13. That will be their final tune-up before the Patriot League Championship.
