AMHERST, N.Y. -
The Boston University women's cross country team concluded its 2018 season at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Friday morning at Audubon Golf Course.

BU placed 25th in a 35-team field with a score of 653 points. Freshman Jessica Kellar led the Terriers with a 69th-place performance in a field of 244 harriers. She finished the 6K race in 23:15.3.

"This is a pretty tough environment for a freshman," head coach Paul Spangler said. "She did a good job to get into position, but just wasn't able to move up as the race went on. We're better than what we raced today, but just didn't have a race like we did at Patriot League.

Sophomore Corinne Batsu was just outside the top 100, coming in 104th with a time of 23:44.6. Senior Alicia Huerta was next for BU (24:21.0), followed by junior Coco Ocker (24:44.8) and senior Dominique Betterbed (24:45.1), who rounded out the Terrier scorers. Senior Elin Wolker (25:02.7) and sophomore Laura Parkinson (25:20.5) also raced for BU.

"We'll miss our seniors," Spangler said. "They had a good year and were good leaders on the team. We're looking for them to have success during track season"

The Terriers will now turn their attention the indoor track & field season, which begins on Saturday, Dec. 1, when they host the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at the Track and Tennis Center.

"We accomplished a lot of goals this year at the conference championship," Spangler said. "We wanted to end the season on a better note, but our performance at the Patriot League Championship was a step forward from last year. We'll look to take another step in 2019."
