WEST POINT, N.Y. - Resuming Patriot League play, the Boston University women's tennis team blanked Lehigh, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at Army's Malek Tennis Center.
With their fifth sweep of the season and first away from home, the Boston University women's tennis team improves to 8-11 and 3-0 in the conference, while the Mountain Hawks fall to 10-9 (4-3 PL).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Terriers won two of three doubles matches for the first point and then captured all six singles points, including three in straight sets for the victory.
- Junior Remi Ramos and freshman Lily Burchell posted a 6-1 win at line 1, while senior Iryna Kostirko and freshman Emily Kim earned a 6-4 win in the No. 2 slot.
- Lehigh avoided the doubles sweep with a 6-2 win at line 3.
- In singles, Ramos dropped the fewest games with a dominating 6-4, 6-1 win at line 2, while classmate Sophia Kryloff (#6) dropped just six in a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
- Burchell (#4) also won in straight sets with a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
- In the top match, Kostirko held off Christina Auyeung's rally attempt with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 victory, while Kim earned a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 win at line 3.
- Freshman Katya Martens completed the sweep by rallying for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 victory at line 5.

- In a rematch of last year's PL title match, the Terriers will face the Black Knights on Sunday (April 15) at 11 a.m.
- As the No. 2 seed, BU topped No. 1 Army, 4-1, at Lehigh to avenge an earlier 4-2 loss at West Point.
