EAST HARTFORD, Conn. - Despite winning two of the top three singles matches, the Boston University women's tennis team wrapped up a weekend trip to the state of Connecticut with a 5-2 loss to Memphis.
The Tigers (14-7) claimed their sixth straight victory by first capturing the doubles point behind a pair of wins and then four singles points, including three in straight sets.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior Remi Ramos and freshman Lily Burchell edged Memphis, 7-6(6), in the top doubles slot, but the Tigers won the other two contests by a combined score of 12-5, to jump out to a 1-0 lead.
- The Tigers won the bottom three matches in straight sets to earn the team victory.
- Senior Iryna Kostirko rallied from a set down to defeat two-time All-AAC honoree Anki Wind in the top slot, 6-7, 6-4, 16-14.
- Freshman Emily Kim held off a charge at line 3 to post a 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 victory.
- Ramos rallied to force a third set but came up just short with a 7-5, 3-6, 11-9 loss.

- The Terriers will resume Patriot League play by visit West Point, New York for a pair of matches.
- BU will first face the Mountain Hawks on Saturday (April 14) and then Army on Sunday (April 15).
