HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont opened the scoring just 4:19 into the proceedings to grab a 1-0 lead.
- De Sousa evened the score with a power-play strike at 12:01 of the first frame. Melissa Black (18 saves) kicked aside a shot by Rust from the top of the zone, but De Sousa was right in front to knock home the rebound for her sixth goal of the year.
- Parker gave the Terriers a 2-1 lead less than two minutes later. After Scarpaci broke up a play in the defensive zone, Davis grabbed the puck at the left half-boards and whipped the puck to Parker, who was on the right wing of the neutral zone. Parker raced past a defender and skated to the right circle before ripping a shot past Black for her ninth goal of the year.
- Davis then made it 3-1 with 3:48 to play in the period when she slid home a rebound off a Compher shot that rang off the post.
- BU pushed its lead to 4-1 just 3:15 into the second stanza. Davis created a 2-on-1 with Wuthrich and deftly found the freshman at the right post for Wuthrich's fourth goal of the year.
- Compher made it 5-1 at 12:51 of the middle frame when she redirected a Cook shot past Black.
- Schroeder made a huge save on a breakaway following a UVM goal to keep the Terriers ahead by three entering the final 20 minutes.
- Schuler made it 6-2 when she won a faceoff back to Cook and pushed home a loose puck off a rebound.
