CUMBERLAND, R.I. – After sweeping through doubles, Bryant captured five singles points to defeat the Boston University men's tennis team, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (2-4) claimed three of their points in straight sets, as the Terriers fell to 2-5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bryant won the No. 1 and 3 matches by a combined score of 12-3 for the 1-0 advantage.
- Sophomore David Bogatin and junior J.P. Avila nearly avoided the doubles sweep but came up just short in the tiebreaker at No. 2 for the 6-5(3) loss.
- The Bulldogs claimed three singles points in straight sets at lines 1, 2 and 6.
- Sophomore Pete Siozios held off Alexander Schou's rally with a dominating performance in the third set at line 3 for the 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 victory.
- Both freshmen Max Stehling (#4) and Max Hartenstein (#5) battled their respective opponents to a third set but came up short to Bryant.
