HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bruins led off the game with a solo homer, single and double to send sophomore Ali DuBois (8-2) to the bench.
- UCLA added a run in the first with a sacrifice fly against freshman Emily Gant, who prevented the Bruins from getting on the scoreboard again until the fourth.
- Freshman Aliyah Huerta-Leipner led off with a single and took second on senior Emily Morrow's walk, but Faraimo got out of the jam with a pair of strikeouts.
- Morrow and Heinen had back-to-back two-out singles in the third before Faraimo induced a ground out to keep BU off the scoreboard.
- UCLA extended the lead to 5-0 in the fourth with three runs off three hits and a hit-by-pitch.
- Amodio tripled with two outs in the bottom half but was stranded at third.
- Seeking its ninth run-rule victory, UCLA started the sixth with back-to-back singles against Gant.
- Junior Kali Magane entered the circle and held the Bruins to a run off a sacrifice fly.
- UCLA though added six more runs off five hits and an error in the seventh against three BU pitchers to seal the victory.
