LOS ANGELES, Calif. – After collecting three wins at the Louisville Slugger Invitational, the Boston University softball team will continue its California trip with a visit to Loyola Marymount on Tuesday with the doubleheader slated to begin at 3 p.m. ET.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU started off this past weekend with wins over five-time defending West Coast Conference champion BYU (7-6), San Diego State (6-0) and Robert Morris (4-0) before falling to 2018 NCAA regional finalist Liberty (5-0) and 2018 WCWS participant UCLA (12-0).
  • Senior Alex Heinen (.278) batted a team-high .357 while recording a pair of two-run homers ... She currently owns a team-high 19 RBIs and six homers (34th-best nationally) with a .611 slugging percentage.
  • Senior Emily Morrow is batting a team-high .386 with 11 RBIs and 10 runs scored ... Both freshman Aliyah Huerta-Leiper (.315) and Maina Sylvestri (.313) are also batting over .300 for the season with Huerta-Leipner tallying 10 RBIs alongside a team-high 14 runs scored.
  • Freshman Nicole Amodio (.279) has reached home plate 10 times and has combined with senior Alexa Ponce (.269) for 17 RBIs.
  • Sophomore Ali DuBois was impressive in the circle this past weekend, posting a 3-1 record with a 1.17 ERA ... Overall she sits at 8-2 with a 1.46 ERA and 66 strikeouts in 62.1 innings.
  • DuBois is holding opposing batters to .230, while freshman Emily Gant (2-3, 2.72 EA) is tallying 37 strikeouts in 36.0 innings and holding teams to .280.
SCOUTING LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
  • The Lions are 12-9 this season after posting a 34-24-1 mark last year ... They are 4-2 at home with notable wins against New Mexico (6-2), South Dakota (5-2) and San Diego State (2-1) ... LMU split with Western Carolina and also fell to Oregon State (6-2).
  • LMU is batting .250 as a team with identical 11-11 tie in homers and slight 29-25 advantage in doubles while holding opponents to .233.
  • Andrea Gonzalez is hitting a team-high .355 with 10 RBIs, while RIley Ehlen is hitting .340 with team-high four homers and 13 RBIs ... Molly Grumbo (.276) leads LMU at 11 runs scored.
  • Hannah Bandimere (9-5, 1.59 ERA) has been a part of three shutouts and is holding hitters to a .221 average with 46 strikeouts in 74.2 innings ... Samantha Manti (3-4, 3.10 ERA) and Linnay Wilson (0-0, 2.69 ERA) have combined for the other nine starts with 70 strikeouts in 69.1 innings.
SERIES HISTORY
  • BU is 1-5 all-time against the Lions having competed in doubleheaders in each of the last three seasons.
  • Last season, LMU tallied four runs through the first five innings of each contest and held off two late charges from the Terriers to win both games (4-2, 4-3) while claiming an 18-11 advantage in hits.
  • Four of the Lions' five wins have been by a combined six runs ... BU earned a 3-1 victory in 2017.
