BOSTON – Boosted by senior

Aliyah Huerta-Leipner's three combined doubles, the Boston University softball team earned a 9-1 home run-rule victory over Dartmouth on Thursday afternoon.
The duo finished 5-of-5 with three RBIs and six runs scored to help the Terriers (29-17) extend their win streak to nine games and improve to 12-0 at home, while the Big Green fell to 8-25. Sophomore
Ali DuBois (20-8) collected eight strikeouts against one walk and one homer allowed in five innings of work.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU jumped out to 3-0 lead off three hits in the first inning with Killebrew plating Huerta-Leipner (hit-by-pitch) from second on a double to center.
- Sophomore Marina Sylvestri drove in Killebrew on an RBI single and got into a rundown to help senior Alexa Ponce score as well.
- The Terriers extended the lead to 5-0 on a double steal and senior Emily Morrow's RBI single up the middle in the second.
- Killebrew kept BU on the attack by leading off the third with a double before scoring on Ponce's sac fly to left.
- Amodio added another RBI sac fly to give the Terriers a commanding 7-0 lead.
- Finishing 3-of-3, Morgan Martinelli helped Dartmouth avoid the shutout with a solo blast to left center in the top of the fourth against DuBois.
- Huerta-Leipner demonstrated her speed by scoring from second on Killebrew's blast that was robbed at the center field fence by a leaping Taylor Ward.
- The Big Green tried to mount a rally in the sixth against freshman Emily Gant with a walk and double, but the Terriers were able to the ball to home in time for a tag out.
- Huerta-Leipner helped complete the run-rule victory by doubling down the right field, taking third on senior Alex Heinen's infield single and scoring on Killebrew's RBI single to right.
GAME NOTES
- Huerta-Leipner became the ninth Terrier ever to reach home plate four times in a game with Emma Wong ('18) the last to accomplish the feat in 2018.
- Killebrew has earned six of her seven doubles this season over the last 10 games, while the Terriers have posted 19 of their 42 doubles.
- DuBois is now currently tied-for-sixth all-time at BU with 48 wins alongside Mary Colleran ('00) after surpassig Collearn for sole possession of sixth place in strikeouts (362).
- BU doubled the Big Green in hits, 10-5.
- The Terriers are now 16-1 all-time against Dartmouth with an 11-0 home mark after hosting the Big Green for the first time since earning a doubleheader sweep in 2010.
NEXT UP: ARMY WEST POINT
- The Terriers will conclude their final homestand of the regular season by hosting the Black Knights in a three-game weekend series with Saturday's doubleheader slated to begin at 12 p.m.
- BU will honor five seniors prior to Sunday's 12 p.m. first pitch.
- The Terriers are currently in first place in the PL standings at 11-1 with next week's series at 13-2 Bucknell looming.
