Navy Edges Men's Basketball in OT Thriller, 60-58

BOSTON – Playing in front of an energized crowd with school back in session, the Boston University men's basketball team rallied from a nine-point deficit to force overtime but ultimately came up short to Navy, 60-58, on Wednesday night at Case Gym.

The Midshipmen (11-7, 5-2 PL) only drained three 3-pointers but finished with a 15-6 advantage in made free throws, including seven in the final five minutes of action, to snap the Terriers' (10-10, 4-3 PL) six-game home streak. Down by one, freshman Ethan Brittain-Watts' go-ahead floater attempt rimmed out with approximately six seconds left, and Navy grabbed the loose rebound at 0.7 seconds to mark the ninth straight matchup in the series with the road team prevailing.

Senior Max Mahoney led BU with 14 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the year, while sophomore Walter Whyte had 14 points and nine boards. Navy's Greg Summers went 7-of-11 from the field and 5-of-5 at the line for a game-high 19 points alongside eight rebounds. Cam Davis entered the contest averaging a team-high 18.8 ppg in conference play for the Midshipmen and was held to 5-of-16 shooting but still managed 17 points thanks to six free throws on 10 attempts.
