BU (0-2) only trailed Ohio State (2-0) by a goal, 2-1, at the end of the first quarter. The Buckeyes scored four times in each of the next two quarters, however, to pull away from the Terriers. BU forced 16 of Ohio State's 21 giveaways, with sophomore Jake Cates, senior Nicholas Ellerton and sophomore Will Carson each responsible for two of those turnovers. Senior Joe McSorley made eight saves, including five in the fourth quarter, and allowed just 10 of the Buckeyes' goals.

Four different Terriers found the back of the net, as Levesque, senior Jared Nugent ,and sophomores Jett Dziama and Timmy Ley all scored. For Nugent and Ley, this was their second straight game with a goal. Freshmen Louis Perfetto and Vince D'Alto each added an assist for the second straight game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Both teams made defensive stands early in the contest, with the Buckeyes eventually striking first at 9:38 of the first quarter.
  • Dziama evened the score with his first goal of the season off a feed from D'Alto.
  • Jeff Henrick answered with a goal just 15 seconds later to regain the Buckeyes' one-goal edge.
  • Eddy and Ellerton combined to force a turnover at the end of the quarter and keep BU within one.
  • Ohio State scored the first four goals of the second stanza, but the Terriers getting a goal back off a Christman faceoff win to end the quarter. Christman claimed the draw and drew three defenders with him before shopping the ball to Levesque. The senior long-pole took several steps before launching a shot past Josh Kirson (18 saves), and the Terriers entered halftime trailing by four, 6-2.
  • The Buckeyes added two goals early in the third quarter.
  • Ley used a terrific individual effort to get his second goal of the season at 7:05 of the third quarter. He dodged his way through several checks by two defenders to get to the front of the cage and eventually score.
  • Ohio State led, 10-3, after three quarters, but Nugent got a goal back when he ripped home his second of the season off a pass from Perfetto.
