BOSTON - Looking to build on its current three-game win streak, the Boston University men's ice hockey team returns to action this weekend when it hosts Maine for a two-game series at Walter Brown Arena.

The opener on Friday (Jan. 22) will start at 3:30 p.m. and will be televised on NESN and TSN2. The teams will wrap the series on Saturday (Jan. 23) at 1 p.m. to kick off the first-ever BU hockey doubleheader at Walter Brown Arena as the women's team will face Maine at 6:30 p.m.

There will be a nostalgic feeling when the puck drops this weekend as these storied programs had some memorable matchups at this rink over the course of two-and-a-half decades before the Terriers moved next door to Agganis Arena in 2005. In this unprecedented year, the Terriers are calling Walter Brown Arena home once again, and will look to keep their momentum going against an old rival.

BU is coming off a sweep of No. 8 Massachusetts, including an overtime triumph on Monday. Senior David Farrance had the game-winning goal in both contests and leads the team in points (8) and assists (5). Freshman goaltender Drew Commesso has made at least 32 saves in all four games this season and recorded 44 in the overtime victory against the Minutemen.

Maine has played seven contests - all on the road - and has split its past two weekends at Vermont and most recently at Providence. After a 4-3 win over the Friars last Friday, the Black Bears were edged, 3-2, the following night.

The Black Bears are led in points by junior Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup, who has nine on three goals and six assists. Senior Eduards Tralmaks has eight points on the strength of a team-best five goals. Sophomore Matthew Thiessen and freshman Victor Ostman have split time in net with Ostman holding an edge in both save percentage (.894 - .872) and goals-against average (3.89 - 4.54).
