BU to Host Merrimack Friday Night at Walter Brown Arena

The Boston University women's ice hockey team will host Merrimack on Friday night at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Effective Oct. 15, 2021, all guests 12 years and older will be required to present proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a qualifying negative COVID-19 test to gain access to Agganis Arena and the Case Center for ice hockey and basketball games. TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU remained unbeaten after knocking off No. 2 Northeastern, 2-1, on Oct. 8 and earning a 3-3 tie at New Hampshire on Oct. 9.
  • Freshman Christina Vote was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week on Monday after scoring her first two collegiate goals over the weekend, including the game-winning goal in the Terriers' upset over the Huskies.
  • BU has averaged the fewest penalty minutes in the nation so far this season at 3.50 PIMs per game.
  • Senior Courtney Correia leads the Terriers in goals (2), assists (5) and points (7) through four games this year.
  • Junior Julia Nearis has notched a point in all four games this season, posting two goals and four assists for six points.
  • Senior goaltender Kate Stuart made her season debut on Friday night against No. 2 Northeastern, making 35 saves in the win.

HISTORY WITH THE WARRIORS

  • The Terriers are 11-2-4 against the Warriors over the last seven years, including a 5-1-2 record at Walter Brown Arena.
  • BU has not lost to Merrimack since a 2-1 defeat at Walter Brown on Sept. 23, 2017.
  • The Terriers are 5-0-4 against the Warriors during that span.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS

  • Merrimack is 0-5, but its last three losses have been a pair of shutout defeats to No. 1 Wisconsin and a close 2-1 battle with then-No. 5/7 Boston College, the latter of which was last Saturday.
  • Four different Warriors have scored the team's four goals this season, with juniors Katie Kaufman and Madison Oelkers each adding an assist to lead Merrimack with two points apiece.
  • They are two of four different Merrimack skaters with one assist.
  • Junior goaltender Emma Gorski has started four of the Warriors' five games, posting a 4.11 goals-against average and an .874 save percentage.
