BOSTON - The Boston University field hockey team will wrap up the home portion of its schedule and honor its seniors this weekend when a pair of ranked opponents visit New Balance Field.
The Terriers will host No. 19 American on Saturday (Oct. 23) before facing No. 24 Duke on Sunday (Oct. 24). Both games will start at noon.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers will honor their four-member senior class and graduate student Miya Denison prior to Sunday's contest vs. Duke.
- BU kicked off a three-game homestand on Monday with a hard-fought 1-0 loss to then-No. 13 Harvard.
- Freshman Payton Anderson leads BU in points (17), goals (7) and shots (37).
- BU's past four goals have been scored by four different players - Anderson, Gianna Pantaleo, Ellie McIntyre and Thalia Steenssens.
- Senior Casey Thompson leads the team in assists with six, which ties her for fourth among Patriot League players.
- Junior Rachel Borzymowski is tied for third in the nation in defensive saves with six.Â
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
- American has won its past four games and all three of its losses came against ranked teams.
- With a win on Saturday, American can clinch the top seed for the upcoming Patriot League tournament.
- The Eagles are coming off a 3-1 home win over Cornell on Sunday after a 6-0 Senior Day triumph against Colgate on Saturday.
- Graduate student Noor Coenen leads the Eagles in both goals (7) and assists (6) and fellow graduate student Gaby de Kock has 11 points on four goals and three assists.
- Ten other Eagles have tallied at least one goal this season.
- Sophomore Bryn Underwood has started all but one contest this season and leads the PL in save percentage at .789 to go along with a 1.38 goals-against average, which ranks second in the conference.

- The Terriers are 12-4Â all-time against American with victories in eight of the past 10Â meetings.Â
SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS
- Duke kicked off its Boston trip with a 3-1 loss at No. 13 Boston College on Friday and is 1-5 thus far in October.
- The Blue Devils' five wins this season have come against Old Dominion, William & Mary, James Madison, Princeton and Richmond.
- Freshman Logan Clouser has had a strong rookie campaign and leads Duke in points (12) and goals (5).
- Graduate students Lexi Davidson and MaryKate Neff have each recorded 11 points on three goals and five assists this season.
- Sophomore Piper Hampsch has started in 14Â of Duke's 15Â contests and she sports a 2.58 goals-against average and a .698 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
- BU has two wins in 14 meetings with the Blue Devils.
- The last meeting took place at New Balance Field in 2017 with Duke earning a 5-1 road win.
