The Boston University men's ice hockey team will continue its 100th season on Friday night when the Terriers host Boston College in the 285th edition of the Battle of Comm. Ave. at Agganis Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and the game will be televised live on NESN as the Hockey East Game of the Week.
BU will pay tribute to legendary player and coach Jack Kelley ('52) prior to the game. Kelley, who passed away in September 2020 at the age of 92, led the Terriers to their first two national titles in 1971 and 1972 and set a standard of excellence for the Terrier men's ice hockey program during his 10 years as head coach.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of those back-to-back national titles, BU will welcome back members of the 1970-71 and 1971-72 teams and recognize them during an on-ice ceremony during the first intermission.
Effective Oct. 15, 2021, all guests 12 years and older will be required to present proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a qualifying negative COVID-19 test to gain access to Agganis Arena and the Case Center for ice hockey and basketball games.
