The Boston University men's ice hockey team will return to action this weekend with a road trip up north for a two-games series against Vermont on Friday (Feb. 12) and Saturday (Feb. 13). Both games will start at 6 p.m.
The Terriers (6-2-0) are in second place in the newly announced Hockey East Power Index, which will determine seeding for this year's league tournament. They are coming off a 3-1 home win over top-ranked Boston College to claim four of six points in the weekend series with its archrival. It was BU's first win over a No. 1-ranked team since the 2015 NCAA Frozen Four semifinals against North Dakota.
Freshman Vinny Duplessis is the reigning Hockey East Rookie of the Week following his 40-save performance in the win over the Eagles in his collegiate debut.
Vermont (1-5-2) has also played just eight games this season with first-year head coach Todd Woodcroft but hasn't been in action in over a month as the Catamounts last split a home series with Maine on Jan. 8-9.
Freshman Ray Vitolins leads UVM in both points (6) and assists (5) while senior defenseman Christian Evers has a team-best four goals. Senior Tyler Harmon has started all eight games in goal and has a .905 save percentage to go along with a 3.30 goals-against average.
