WEST POINT, N.Y. – Boosted by a season-high 15 3-pointers, the Boston University opened the final weekend series of the regular season with a 75-63 win at Army West Point Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Jonas Harper tied a personal best with six treys en route to a game-high 18 points alongside six rebounds and three assists to help the Terriers (6-9, 6-9 PL) snap a three-game losing streak. Overall, BU went 15-of-27 (.556) from behind the arc with eight Terriers contributing to the total against the Black Knights (10-8, 6-7 PL).

Sukhmail Mathon was one point and one rebound shy of his fourth double-double of the season, while classmate
Javante McCoy tallied eight points, six rebounds and four assists. Junior
Jack Hemphill added 11 points, as BU's bench outscored Army's, 26-8. Alex King led the Black Knights with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Jalen Rucker hit a 3-pointer for early 5-2 advantage, senior Andrew Petcash and Harper hit back-to-back shots from behind the arc to erase Army's lone lead of the game at 16:25.
- Josh Caldwell tied the game for the third and final time on the next possession with a 3-pointer before Mathon retook the lead on a jump shot.
- Owning a 17-11 advantage, McCoy hit the Terriers' third trey to spark a 16-3 run capped by junior Fletcher Tynen's layup at 8:23.
- Harper flushed his fourth 3-pointer at 1:50 to give BU its largest lead of the game, 41-21, before Lonnie Grayson hit one of his own a minute later for the final bucket of the half.
- After shooting 37.5 percent in the first 20 minutes, Army started the second 9-of-11 (.818) with Grayson netting another 3-pointer at 12:47 to cut BU's lead to single digits (54-45).
- Tynen and junior Walter Whyte both struck from behind the arc to put BU ahead, 60-45, at 10:21.
- Army tried to mount a rally and used Rucker's 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 69-61 at 3:34, but the Black Knights would not get any closer, missing five of their last six shot attempts.
GAME NOTES
- The 15 3-pointers were three shy of the program record set four years ago at Lafayette.
- The win marked No. 250 for 10th-year head coach Joe Jones, who previously had 86 at Columbia from 2003-10.
- BU finished 23-of-50 FG (.460) and 15-of-27 3FG (.556), while the Black Knights finished 25-of-56 FG (.446) and 10-of-23 3FG (.435).

- The Terriers will end the regular season against the Black Knights on Sunday (Feb. 28) with the ESPN+ broadcast set for 3 p.m.
- BU can finish anywhere between No. 5 and 7 for next week's Patriot League tournament.
