The Boston University men's lacrosse team will continue its 2021 season on Friday night when the Terriers travel to Holy Cross for a Patriot League contest. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

BU has not traveled to Holy Cross for a game since April 20, 2018, when the Terriers earned a 9-4 win. They are 4-2 in six meetings with Holy Cross and are currently enjoying a three-game win streak against their in-state rival, including a 15-11 victory at Nickerson Field on April 20, 2019.

The Terriers began conference play this past Saturday with a hard-fought 12-10 loss to No. 6 Army West Point. Junior Timmy Ley paced the offense with four goals and two assists against the Black Knights. No Patriot League player has scored more goals than Ley this season, as the Massapequa, New York, native has found the back of the net 13 times. He is also seventh in the NCAA and second in the Patriot League in goals per game (4.33).

Defensively, Andrew Volk was tremendous against Army West Point. The senior defensive midfielder collected a career-high three caused turnovers and also gathered two ground balls against the Black Knights. He is currently tied with sophomore Roy Meyer for the team lead with five caused turnovers this season. Volk has also gathered six ground balls in three games this year.

Holy Cross opened Patriot League play on March 6 with a 12-11 overtime loss at Colgate. The Crusaders also own an 11-10 home win over Sacred Heart.

Sophomore Dean DiNanno leads Holy Cross with seven points thanks to a team-high six goals. Junior Will Spangenberg has six points thanks to a pair of goals and a team-best four assists. Junior Chris Conlin has caused six turnovers and collected seven ground balls, both of which lead Holy Cross. Junior Brendan McKenzie (11-of-28) and freshman Connor DePiero (7-of-22) have posted faceoff win percentages of .393 and .318, respectively.
