The Boston University men's lacrosse team will continue its 2021 season on Saturday when the Terriers travel to Lafayette for a Patriot League contest. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.

BU is a perfect 6-0 against Lafayette, including a 3-0 mark in Easton. The program's first win came at Lafayette on March 15, 2014, a 12-7 triumph. BU has averaged 14.83 goals per game against the Leopards while allowing them to average just 7.5 goals per game.

The Terriers improved to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in league play following their 16-11 win against Colgate on Saturday. Freshman Tommy Bourque and junior Matt Garber were honored by the Patriot League for their efforts against the Raiders, as BU erased an 8-3 deficit by scoring 13 of the game's final 16 goals.

Sophomore Vince D'Alto, who notched three goals and two assists against Colgate, has a chance on Saturday to match the program record as the fastest Terrier to reach 50 points. He currently stands at 49 points through 11 games. D'Alto and classmate Louis Perfetto have yet to be held without a point during their 11-game careers at BU.

BU ranks third in the nation and first in the Patriot League with a clearing percentage of .917. The Terriers were a perfect 23-for-23 in the clearing game against Colgate, and they also forced the Raiders into seven failed clears on Saturday. BU enters the weekend ranked 10th in the NCAA in opponent clear percentage (.783) and has been particularly strong in that department over the last three games, forcing an average of 6.33 failed clears in that stretch. In addition to their strong performance in the clear and ride, BU boasts the seventh-ranked defense in the nation, holding opponents to just 8.6 goals per game this season. That ranks third in the conference.

Lafayette fell to 0-4 on Wednesday following a 24-8 loss at Drexel. Freshman Charlie Cunniffe leads the Leopards in points (10) and assists (5) while classmate Peter Lehman is the team's top goal scorer with seven markers. Senior midfielder Bryan Hess leads Lafayette with 16 ground balls.

Sophomores James Turco (22-of-47, 9 GB) and Dean Carnival (22-of-53, 11 GB) have shared faceoff duties this season. Sophomores JP Robinson and Tommy McGee are tied for team lead in caused turnovers with four apiece. Junior goalkeeper Ryan Ness has started all four games, posting a .477 save percentage and a 16.00 goals-against average.
