STORRS, Conn. – In the second to final match of the regular season, the Boston University men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Army West Point on Saturday afternoon at the UConn Tennis Courts.
After capturing the doubles point and three singles points in straight sets, the Black Knights improved to 6-1 and 3-0 in conference play, as the Terriers fell to 2-5 (0-2 PL).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Army won the top two doubles matches by a combined score of 12-4 to jump out to a 1-0 lead.
- The Black Knights posted a 6-2, 6-2 win at line 4 in singles action.
- Army also claimed the other two singles points at lines 2 and 3 in straight sets.
- Senior David Bogatin rallied to force a third set in the top slot when his match was halted at 3-6, 6-4.
- Freshman Johann Sajonz also won his second set when his match was halted at 2-6, 6-4 at line 5.
- Freshman Jose Maria Robalino dropped a hard-fought first-set tiebreaker but was unable to get the chance to send his match to a third set.
NEXT UP: Holy Cross
- The Terriers will end the regular season with a visit to Worcester next Saturday (April 17) for a 3 p.m. start against the Crusaders.
- BU won the last meeting, 4-0, in 2019.
