BOSTON – After recognizing the five-member senior class, the Boston University softball team will host Lafayette in a four-game weekend series on ESPN+ with both Saturday and Sunday's doubleheaders slated to begin at 12 p.m.

On Saturday prior to first pitch, BU will honor seniors Ali DuBois, Patricia Dun, Jen Horita, Maya Kipfmiller and Patricia Dun.

The Terriers have all but clinched Patriot League tournament hosting rights with a 17-1 record and just six conference games remaining, including two against Lehigh. The Mountain Hawks, Bucknell, Colgate, Army and Holy Cross all own at least eight losses in the standings, but the Leopards are still alive with a 1-7 record and zero room for error.

In the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 poll, BU earned the 29th most points. A key reason for that is the stellar pitching staff that owns the second lowest earned run average in the nation at 1.18. Recipient of five PL Pitcher of the Week awards this season, DuBois owns a perfect 19-0 record with a 0.79 ERA and 112 strikeouts in 115.0 innings. Both junior Emily Gant (5-2, 1.08 ERA) and sophomore Allison Boaz (4-0, 2.04 ERA) have earned three shutouts apiece along with a PL Pitcher of the Week honor as well.

At the plate, BU ranks 34th nationally with a .304 batting average. Two-time PL Player of the Week and junior Nicole Amodio (.377) went 7-for-9 last weekend against Holy Cross to help increase her team lead in both doubles (9) and RBIs (25). Freshman Lauren Nett (.424), senior Jen Horita (.422) and sophomore Caitlin Coker (.366) have helped drive up the average as well. Coker leads BU with 24 runs scored and nine stolen bases as the lead-off batter.

The Leopards will be seeing their first action since going 1-3 at Colgate on April 9-10. They bounced back from a run-rule defeat with a 2-0 win and then dropped the last two contests to the Raiders by a combined three runs. Grace Harvey is batting a team-high .406 with Paige Grover close behind at .400. They've combined for 16 RBIs and 12 runs scored. In the circle, Kailee Sawai (1-4, 9.45 ERA) owns 14 strikeouts in 33.1 innings with the shutout against the Raiders. Kinzi Van Wyk (0-5, 12.00 ERA) and Hannah Cook (0-2, 4.61 ERA) have combined for the six other starts, as Lafayette is hitting .258 on the season while holding opponents to .380.

BU is 18-0 all-time against Lafayette with nine shutouts. Two years ago, the Terriers opened the road series with a 14-1 (5) win before adding two more victories, 7-0 and 4-0. In the last home series, BU claimed a 7-2 game-one win and then a pair of shutouts (9-0, 3-0).
