MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Continuing the Cream City Classic, the Boston University men's basketball team fell to host Milwaukee, 67-46, on Sunday afternoon at the Klotsche Center.
The Terriers (4-3) had another solid defensive performance, holding the Panthers (4-3) to just 41.5 percent shooting, but could never recover from their 0-for-12 start from the field.
Sophomore
Malcolm Chimezie posted a career-high 10 points with the help of six free throws while adding a season and game-high seven rebounds. Graduate student
Walter Whyte was the other Terrier in double figures at 12 points.
Milwaukee had three men score in double figures with Ahmad Rand tallying 12 points and Markeith Browning II adding 11. Kentrell Pullian contributed 10 points, and BJ Freeman helped the Panthers win the battle at the boards, 42-36, with seven rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Facing a 9-0 deficit, Chimezie scored BU's first point at 14:53 on a free throw.
- Three minutes later, graduate student Fletcher Tynen intercepted a pass and eventually ran to the rim for the slam dunk on a nice feed from junior Miles Brewster to cut Milwaukee's lead to 12-3.
- The Panthers though scored 12 straight points over the next five minutes for a commanding 24-3 lead.
- Graduate student Jonas Harper flushed BU's first 3-pointer with 12 seconds left, but Moses Bol scored on a putback dunk to enter the locker room with a 32-13 lead.
- In the second half, BU just needed 2:05 to score five points with Brewster nailing a 3-pointer and Whyte driving to the hoop for a layup, but Milwaukee had a response each time.
- Pullian eventually extended the Panthers' lead to 49-19 at 14:36 on a 3-pointer.
- Facing a 51-21 deficit with 12 minutes remaining, Chimezie scored four straight on a pair of free throws and layup to spark a 9-0 spurt capped by junior Anthony Morales' layup and bonus free throw at 9:56.
- The Terriers though wouldn't get any closer until junior Daman Tate flushed a 3-pointer at 3:16 to pull within 18 (61-43) for the loss.
GAME NOTES
- Chimezie became the ninth Terrier to score in double figures this season.
- BU suffered its second loss of the tournament and year when holding a team below 70 points after posting a 17-2 record last season.
- BU's bench outscored Milwaukee, 27-25, as the Terriers fell to 15-1 when the bench outperforms the opponent's bench since the start of the 2021-22 season.

- The Terriers will wrap up the three-day event on Monday (Nov. 28) at 2 p.m. ET against UC Davis.
